    Default Computer Help

Ugh I really don't know what's wrong :/ So yeah I was browsing the internet earlier, and was installing a new anti-virus at the same time (never got finished) And then all of a sudden a few errors popped up, never got to read them all nor do I remember all of them as one said the PC was resetting, so yeah... It did that...

On the boot up, it got the the loading screen (Windows Vista btw, little loading bar showed).
Then it proceeded to what would normally be the user select screen or w/e but instead the screen was just black.. Nothing else, no mouse, not even the usual boot sound. Just a black screen.

Reset my computer, ended up with the same screen, so I tried to reset and run it in safe mode, which works, currently running in safe mode with networking (which is how I'm online).

    So yeah I need help?
-I tried system restore, it always fails, error due to disk failure or something like that.
-I tried modifying what loads on startup, disabled everything, didn't work, then tried again leaving only explorer and the OS. Still didn't work.
-I tried booting normally then tried hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete in hopes to get Task Manager open and boot explorer. Didn't work :/

So yeah, only thing I can really think of is a clean install of vista, but kind of want to avoid doing that :/ (Too lazy to look for a copy of vista with a valid key, burn to disc and install, blah, blah).

    So yeah, any suggestions?

The anti virus never got around to installing, PC reset itself before it really started (was unpacking and prompting to install).

I tried running chkdsk, but the command chkdsk /F (Check and fix errors) only seems to work if you restart your computer, but doesn't seem to run if you reboot back in safe mode. MS really fucked up when they made safe mode, pretty fucking useless it seems...
