People have been text modding things like that since DM. So there's no way really to figure out who came up with the idea.

First person I remember doing it was )))))Ko0l))))). He changed it so that instead of saying "Player killed Player2 with (insert gun name here)", it would say "Player killed Player2 with "a headshot". It was funny, because he released it to the public on an old psp hacking site...so many noobs thought they had an auto-aim code.
