Okay so i have a question for you all. I heard it in English class on Thursday and It was in a poem. Then my whole class got into a fight over this little question. People were freaking out so here it is.
Lets say there is this button. You Click it and you get a million dollars, But when you do so it KILLS any person at random in another country. could be a baby or an old lady. you will never know or never here of it. They dont die painfully or anything. they just dissapire. but the are dead. Can you morally Say that you would press this button? Do you feel there is any sort of gray area of justification, or is it Just plain okay or not? Could you live with it on your contchence?
Now lets go over the statistics:
In 1960 a class of 25 highschoolers: 4/25 said they would press it
In 1970 a class of 25 highschoolers: 11/25 said they would press it
in 1990 a class of 25 highschoolers: 15/25 said they would press it
in 200o a class of 25 highschoolers: 20/25 said they would press it
Thus meaning in the year 2000: 80% said they would press it.
Are you one of the 80%
Or are you one of the 20%
Answering honestly:
Its a dog eat dog world and s*** happens. About 3 weeks ago nobody was there for me to morally say what is right and wrong when me and my best friend, two 15 year old kids, got robbed by three men with a gun... over an ipod and some cash. Now i can honestly say,
That i WOULD Press this button.
Would you?
