There is a major difference, one gives you an annoying little pop up, the other doesn't that's why people like the cracked version.
Besides you don't seem to know anything, when you look up winrar on google you'll end up with the old 3.71, I'm providing al ink to a FREE, CRACKED, NEW version, WinRar 4.1.65.
Also, he doesn't have to go searching for it. You're most probably just mad that you couldn't help him out. while I could.

Just because he might not use the features, doesn't mean someone else won't and this is posted in an open section, so one of the 1300+ members of this site might use it.

And yes the pop up does make a big difference when you use WinRar a lot. If it didn't, there wouldn't be a cracked version available.
