    Default Resolution help...

Okay so I need some help with my ps3. Usually my dad plays it downstairs on our new tv, which hapens to be a 50 hd. So of course we would play it on hdmi. But when I take it back up stairs to my old piece of shit tv that dont have hdmi, it puts it on 480i. Now i know there is a way to change it to 720p with just regular cords but I dont know how...? Since my way old tv dont support hdmi how to i put it in 720p res? with regular cords

    Tis unfortunate.

Some games look good in 480i though, like SOCOM isn't too bad (still much better in HD though).
Other games like fallout 3 are unplayable though (well they are, but it's blurry as fuck and hurts your eyes)

Socom was unbearable in SD for me. Now that I've gone HD, I can't go back.

You can play in 720p with component cables...I did it for months.

Fyi, component = 5 colored plugs, not the ryw...that's composite.

Yus of course, but I'm quite certain he's talking about composite.

Yea see I thought there was a way to go 720p with composite, but i guess not. I'll just go compontent and stick with semi-high-def

720p with component still looks bad ass. That's what I used until I found my HDMI cable. But of course, nothing beats full 1080p, its like better than real life haha

Oooh ooooh I should mention that SOCOM doesn't go passed 720p (same with a lot of other games), oooh and yeah, MW2 only runs at 600p I believe.
So I'm not sure what games you've played at 1080p that look like real life... Definitely not Braid or Trine.
