most of the websites that i look up don't have the offical numbers. But a few of them say 5 - 10%. This website states it mainly occurs on the 60 and 20 gb models.

i'm tired of everyone saying oh the fail rate is so high
1st of all it ONLY happens to the 20gigs and 60gigs model
2nd of all the fail rate is around 3%
3rd of all Sony fixed it within a year
unlike that other console that took 3 years

Ive had ma ps3 for three months and not a single issue. But I think I would also take a 360 for 8 dollars as well. 299$ vs. 8$ You do the math O_o
