Psp draining battery

I had to buy a new battery for my A because my old one was completely dead. With the new one in and fully charged I find out that my psp is draining the new battery. In a few hours the batterys charge level is down 10%. Has anyone else had this problem. I want to know if there are any fixes for this or if i have to get a new psp.
