it worked =). now i just have to format to fat32 like scruffy said and i should be good.ok i have a couple things for you to try one i would see if a pc running linux recognizes the drive if yes format it
next would be a program that would write zero's onto the drive you can use the western digital data lifeguard program it can also run diagnostics along with writing the zero's anyway once the operation is complete it will read like the was just installed from the factory like when you buy a for your system
try those and see if they work if not you may have to remove the hard drive for its external enclosure and connect it via its sata connectors connect directly to the motherboard if you do that it most likely will be read by your computer
