Just Cause 2 to launch without MP

Peter Johansson, Lead Designer for the upcoming Just Cause 2, has stated that the game will not include multiplayer support when it launches for home consoles and PC later this year.

Speaking to Play.tv, Johansson commented, "It would have been simple to just jump onto the multiplayer bandwagon, but in the end we decided on designing Just Cause 2 with the focus of delivering the best single-player free roaming experience.”

However, he didn’t rule out the possibility of incorporating multiplayer at some point in the future, adding, "It's likely that Just Cause will have multiplayer in the future but only when we believe we can deliver something truly new and exciting to the multiplayer community while retaining all the core values of the game."

Johansson also highlighted Just Cause 2’s expansive game world and non-linear approach: "The game world is about 6400 square miles," he said, adding, "We've concentrated on making the world full of fun, meaningful, and rewarding content.”

"The time it takes you to complete the game will vary a lot since the game is so non-linear - it depends on what you choose to do to cause Chaos."

6400 miles of map? Thats a big ass game...Wai you not an admin anymore killa?

Yeah, huge huge land of game play... u will notice that in the demo kinda or at least until your time limit expires then it shows you. Wasn't active in a while... long story.

I'm looking forward to the demo, Pain said it was pretty good.

I played the demo, was pretty boring. Doesn't even tell you what you need to do.

That's how it was supposed to be for the demo...they just wanted to let you do what you want. It tells you that while it's loading ;)

I liked it. It was like Mercenaries 2 but with updated graphics, and more to do. The parachute and grapple made it unique and entertaining.

Chaos is like a side mission, but their is also missions, in the demo they give you only one mission and a race or something. And the chaos area in the map is limited, since it's a demo after all.

I liked it too, but it's more similar to Mercenaries 1. Mercenaries 2 was terrible compared to the first one on ps2/xbox.
