No such thing as a PSP2.

Well first, it was a simple “no comment�, then it was David Reeves. Today, it’s John Koller firmly shaking his head at the circulating PSP2 rumors.

Says Koller, “he is familiar with the rumor going around that Sony is cooking something up its sleeves, a PSP2 in particular.� “However, these rumors,� according to him, “are completely unfounded. Yes, there is something cooking up in their labs but it’s definitely not a new handheld.�

So what is it then? It is, in fact, Sony’s strategy of pushing devs away from the UMD format, and towards digital distribution of games through the Playstation Store. “The PSP2 development was but a misinterpretation�, he said.

We’ll expect this rumor to keep breathing until it runs out of oxygen - that would be people’s speculation. And as it is more likely that you guys won’t believe what he said, they’ll need another executive to deny once more the rumor in about a couple of weeks.

not quite, if you check pspupdates, over ar QJ, they have another anouncement that sony might do it, or something along those lines.

nah if ever we wont get ps4,they have enough money to gain before releasn sumthn that big,if ever i saw not till at least 2014,ps2 games still being made and its been around bout 10 years now.

Well, as long as we know that they are creating something we have to keep our minds open. The PSP2 probaly won't ever happen within the next 5 years, it may be a new PSP Motherboard? It could be anything, just got to be open minded. :)

this is bullshit. I want another psp. look at the new DSi that's being released in 7 hours. it's ****ing stupid, but I wouldn't call it the DS2, I'd call it the DS.

example conversation:
friend: hey, will, you got a DS?
me: yeah, I did.
friend: which one?
me: the new one.

that's how sony might put it, just as a simple 'upgrade.' but not a new name.
