Just figured I'd show what I had to work with for my sig.
This is with nothing but the picture, a black background, and then a layer of her smudged out.

It looks all good but I only have one problem and its that u didnt cut her head out well enough it looks choppy >.<

the soft one ends up giving dodgy edges :P

yes and a hard brush is the one that doesnt fade
You can see the hardness when choosing a brush, i always set mine to about 25% hardness to cut around hair and depending on the size of the pic i set my brush to about 5-10 px wide and it always cuts right
Yeah I just saw that before, like I said I never pay attention to what I can do in PS, which is probably why i suck...
