Anyway I actually used a border for once, doesn't make it any better...

So here's the newest piece... (of garbage :D)

i like sephoroth standing but the back pic is kinda blurry

That would be because I blurred the background as t stuck out too much, and faded the back sephiroth out... So the main focus is on the big one..

TBH, i'd say just scrap the text altogetha :P

also, the whole thing does look low quality :S.....

with the border, it looks OKAY-ish.......to make it look a lil better, ATM, it has parts of the actual sig covering it, so its not silver all the way around.......make it so its all the same - should make it look better.....

u have the basics in the bag
now just push a lil bit more to get the hang of developing ure backgrounds......
try starting with smudging the render/stock to make a background......use differant smudge settings for differant fx....

just go wild and then u'll know what things work best :)

thats because the focal is also blurred and low quality......

I only blurred the bg btw :s

Okay well I took a bit of everyone's advice and made something new, same idea though.
So what I did,
Cereal - Changed the text
SonniE - (not posted) fixed size
Grimm - Not blurred :D (smudged tho)
MZA - a lot.. took the render off the border, of course the big seph does have to pass over on top.., worked with the render to make the bg rather than just doing whatever,
Fixed border so it's more constant (Although different from the other one)

I was going to add something else but I couldn't get it right, maybe in the future though.. anyway here it is..

the bg - IMO, is a lot better
the previous one was too chaotic for me :)
border is sweet and im glad the bg isnt blurred.....
its still obvious what the focal is though - which is of course a good thing :)

EDIT:
although the bg does need a lil bit more.....no too much so its like the previous one, but just a little.......
and yeah - i know u prob. didnt blur the focal (big seph), but it still looks low quality :P

I guess because it's small, and I did a bit of shadowing :D
But come on.. It's Sephiroth :D

As for the bg, what do you mean exactly by "a little bit more" :D a little bit more what :( I can't read minds :(

a focal is the thing that your eyes should concentrate on most.....
it is the main part of the sig :)

when i sai 'a lil bit more' - i meant that ATM, its a little empty......u 'over-smudged' the render so that the bg is just.....boring....
next time......dont totally smudge it so that there is no texture, u want the smudge strokes to be seen :)

Focal - Mhmm that's what I thought.

Bg- meh ah well.. first time i did it, can't be perfect >_<
