so who's tried it out so far? i downloaded the official public beta from microsoft, and i'm trying it out now. so far my reaction is one of "meh." it doesn't do anything special that makes me go "wow zomg" and plus if i decide to keep it i'd have to do all sorts of tweaking to get it the way i want it.
i think i'll probably stick with XP. it's good, and i have it set up the way i want it already.

Same. Except for the "WOW factor". I actually did wow. Because I beta tested vista before that came out and the difference between the vista beta and the windows 7 beta is staggering. The stability and the speed is really alot better than before. And after benchmarks against XP and Vista, the windows 7 beta won. (As far as I know that's a first) So I am really looking forward to the main release but for now I'm sticking with XP because I don't have the time to reconfigure my computer environment to suit windows 7 yet. (When I get a second comp you bet it will be running winodws 7)

well, that speed stat is pretty impressive. we'll see if it sticks around for the official release. still, for me, the jury's still out. i guess i'm just used to xp and 7 has quite a different look and feel, that i'm not used to.

just partition your hard drive and dual boot it. use partition magic to do the partitions so you won't lose your data.
