There have been a lot of people bumping really old threads, so I did some looking and found this (http://www.kxdesign.com/vb-3-7-add-ons/78-kx-auto-lock-thread.html) addon for vbulletin that will auto lock threads after a certain period of inactivity. it does say that it locks determined on the first post, but according to this (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=165618), it can be modified to go off of last post.

i would agree but some old posts still are open for a reason and someone might still have questions if it locks a post someone is going to reply in they are just going to make their own messed up thread and know one will know what their questions regarding good work with finding the mod tho if i notice a big problem with this hapening ill try it out

i agree that every once in a while someone may have a valid question about an older thread, but mainly it's either a question that has already been answered or can be answered easily by a self-guided field trip to the tutorial section, or it's a completely useless post.

well, then either we need the current mods to do their job or get some different ones who will. besides, this would make things easier for the mods.

i agree with both idea, but we dont rly have a say in it -_-....new or more mods would be the better idea, sonnie does have a good point, and so do you wmd.....most of the questions they have can be easily found!

i think at least moderators should send out that official warning thing the first time someone unnecessarily bumps an old thread, and after the first time, send out infractions.

SonniE does make a good point, i agree with him. Besides if staff see's people bumping old threads on purpose without a good reason or question then staff can simply delete that post that bumped the thread. If we notice the user has done this not for the first time then they will be warned or dealt with.

Well, if I can stay on topic I reply to old posts.
I don't see how that is bad.
At one point it was a new post too.
