How do put images on GIMP?

push Ctrl O to open and select an image.

No it just wont open a image no matter what i try.

Try dragging it in.
Save the pic to your desktop, click, hold and drag it in the gimp window.

Or, open a new doc in gimp and paste the pic (copy from somewhere)

Free, And lower quality and fewer options. Effects and stuff.
Its pretty good if you cant get PS though.
