Can someone explain how I could use these? I'm a total noob to the world of Gfx.

okay C4D's are used to add efex.
When you use them right they look cool.
You put them in your sigs in the right spots to make them blend,
Mess with the colors and Sometimes lower the visibility and it looks cool.

I don't know how to add them though thats the problem.

You Need Either Photoshop, Or GIMP, Something that has LAYERS.
If you dont have something with layers i would very highly getting PS Portable From the application Section. If it doesnt work SonniE Posted GIMP A while ago. Also in the application section. Its completely free and easy install. Its also easier to use for beginners compared to Photoshop. This is what i started with.

well i have gimp. So all I have to do is make a new layer and edit it a bit?

Exactly what you have to do.
Gimp is good.
You should do well with that.
