1) Can I upgrade to a Custom FirmWare from a Official FirmWare?
Well, it 1) it would be DOWNGRADING to 1.5 THEN UPGRADING to a Custom FirmWare. Depending on what version you have, you have to downgrade using a differnt method
<2.00: You can downgrade using a MPH downgrader (it will say that there is a trojan in the file, but dont worry its for the psp to use to downgrade with. This will not hurt your PC or PSP)
<2.81: You can downgrade using a GTA: Liberty City Stories UMD, as long as it is not patched (says UPDATE 2.00 when you put disk in).
<3.50: You can downgrade by using the illuminati method. For this, you will need a original Lumines UMD (should have no update) to help the downgrade process.
<3.51+: There is no current downgrader for anything above 3.51, unless you use "Pandoras Battery".
2) "What is pandoras battery?"
PANDORAS BATTERY is a patched battery that puts the psp into service mode when turned on. This will fix an psp on the market. For this to work, you will need the "Magic Files" and a Custom FirmWare enabled psp. If you dont have a psp with a custom firmware availbale, then you can use these files http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AWT6WS75 and this vid on how too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpYBzq8GxLI
3) "How do i put games on my psp?"
Unless you download them from the Playstation Store ( store.playstation.com ), or have gotten a hacked one from myself, then you will need a Custom FirmWare to play them. If you have a Custom FirmWare, then place the ISO, CSO, JSO, DAX, or other compressed file (not .rar or .zip) into a folder called ISO in the root of your memory card (next to "PSP" on your memory card).
4) "What games are good to download"
----1) Obviously since the games you download must be owned by you, that you dont know your own games
-------"Wait, the games i get i must own?"
Yes, or else its illegal.
------2) Why dont you do a little research, check psp.ign.com for some reviews on games.
5 "DUDE I SAW A GUY WHO CHANGED HIS XMB (Home menu)!! WTF HOW"
----1) calm the **** DOWN. You can change your theme with a official firmware, and a custom firmware. =0
------With a custom firmware, you apply it directly to the FLASH0 of your psp. To do this, get the theme you want to put on your psp (which theme? research "psp themes" -_-), then turn on your psp while holding the R button. This will bring up a menu (depending on which version you have it will be different colors), then go to ADVANCED, then ENABLE FLASH0. Now, attach the usb cable to your psp (dont have one? then thats too bad, cause there like 5 dollars), and go to MY COMPUTER, then REMOVABLE DISK, then in side REMOVABLE DISK you will see for folders, click the bottom right/last one. You should now see a resource folder. copy your theme files into it. When it says "OVERWRITE?" hit yes. if there isnt enough space, then delete your resource folder, and add the theme files again. When its done copying, turn off your psp, and turn it back on.
---------"Can the method above brick my psp (render it useless)?
YES, so make sure you have a BACKUP of the RESOURCE folder. This way, if you mess up, you can just delete the resource files that are not working with a ORIGINAL theme.
---------"Do all themes work on all version?"
No, if it says works on 3.71 m33, then it wont work on version 3.4oe A/B
---------"It says that it (my theme) works on 3.71 m33. I have 3.71 m33 REVISION 1/2/3/4, so will it work?"
You make jesus cry. YES IT WORKS DUMBASS
----With a official firmware/custom firmware of 3.70 or more, you are able to use sony themes. These themes work on both the OFFICIAL AND CUSTOM. All you have to do, it put them in a folder called THEMES in the root of your memory card (next to the psp folder). After thats done, go to the THEME section of your psp (in settings) and click the apply, then your theme. yay done

No
