I have a version 4.05 on a phat psp and when i installed nitepr ( i did follow instructions from sonnies begginer) and it didnt work :( anyway do i have to have a custom firmware for this?

theres something wrong with the codes your turning on then ether they should'nt be on now or one of the codes is a dud

Yes you need custom firmware to run any plugin(prx)

Do you have NitePred.exe? If so Just put it on your PSP on the SEplugins folder. It tells you loads of stuff on what to change like your MAC Address and screenshots etc...
