Indirectly it is. It's not an actual test for hacking, but more of a puzzle on using tools that are used to hack.

But good luck thinking you'll hack a site for real by viewing it's source.
Only a complete retard would use javascript for authentication. Even an idiot would know to use something server side rather than client side.
