I had to buy a new battery for my psp because my old one was completely dead. With the new one in and fully charged I find out that my psp is draining the new battery. In a few hours the batterys charge level is down 10%. Has anyone else had this problem. I want to know if there are any fixes for this or if i have to get a new psp.

putting your CPU to 333 will drain battery faster

you know if you are playing online games you cant charge the PSP. however, if you clock the CPU at 222/whatever this number is, it will charge. so its best to keep it there, it will charge online, and your battery will last longer because the PSP's not switching it by it self. complete control.

ok now what is you problem cause after a couple hours every psp will end up completely draining the battery unless its draining it while its charging or if you want to make it last longer turn down the screen brightness and lower the volume
Brightness and volume is on 1.
After I charging the battery to 100% one night, the next morning it was at 37%.
putting your CPU to 333 will drain battery faster
Cpu speed is on default.

ok i see what your saying i'm sorry to say it can be only one of 3 things
1. The current battery in is defective aka its on its way out which would account for it discharging
2.the psp has a short which is caused usually if you mod the system and theirs a bridge that just enough of a contact isn't shorting out the psp but rather draining the battery.
3. you forgot to turn the unit off and or your psp gave you a false charging level
tbh i think its number one
I just got that new battery off of ebay and its brand new.
When I shut off my psp I hold the power switch up, so it shuts off completely.
I haven't even opened up my psp, so it can't be the 3rd one either. I'll just have to get a new psp.
